Nigeria Prepares to Open Borders as Covid-19 Cases Drop

    The government has postponed the resumption of international flights from August 29, 2020, to September 5, 2020. Authorities have said that airlines will be fined U.S.$3,500 per passenger, if they are transported without a negative Covid-19 test. The country is recording lower daily Covid-19 infections, however coupled with the collapse in oil prices, it is expected to plunge the Nigerian economy into a severe recession, experts have said.
